Company Overview
ALSI was established in 1979
in association with an engineering and consulting
firm, Skelly & Loy, Inc., located in Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania. ALSI was later purchased in 1991 to
become an independently owned and operated environmental services testing laboratory. As the
laboratory began to expand and move into other areas
of analytical testing such as industrial
hygiene, ALSI considered purchasing a bigger facility
to meet the demands of their clients and pursue larger
environmental projects. In October 1997, ALSI purchased
an environmental testing laboratory already established
in the environmental testing industry. This acquisition
was led by Michael S. Farlling, ALSI's President.
Company Team
When ALSI doubled in size "overnight",
Mike realized the need to approach each project with
a team effort. In leading the team, Mike depends on
ALSI's Technical Director, Dave Lane, and Laboratory
Manager, Ray Martrano, to support our expertly trained
chemists, analysts, technicians, and support personnel
in providing quality data. Along with our vast array
of technical capabilities, each client is provided
with a project coordinator who works closely with
each project in monitoring bottle requests, sample
turnaround times, meeting deadlines, communicating
inconsistencies to the client, verifying invoicing,
etc. ALSI's clients receive more than a result, they
receive a result supported by proper QA/QC, documentation,
sample handling, and final report deliverables. These
key ingredients allow our clients to receive high
quality results to make sound decisions in meeting
project-goal demands. Remember- "Understanding Client's
Needs is Our Science."
